Modica & Noto Orientation Tour

You will meet your driver at ship dock or at tender mooring; he will wait for you handling the Onirikos arrival board. The driver will escort you to Noto where you will meet you professional English-speaking guide in order to enjoy a unique experience.

Noto is a pleasant and attractive little town, with a historic centre that is composed almost entirely of crumbling Baroque palaces, churches and houses. The town's striking architectural coherence is due to the major earthquake that struck Sicily in 1693. The old town of Noto was almost completely destroyed, and it was decided to reconstruct a splendid new town several miles away. Thus Noto was rebuilt on its present site, carefully designed for functionality and architectural harmony. You will wander around the narrow streets, admiring the golden-colored stone buildings, the fantastical facades and balconies.

After lunch at traditional restaurant the driver will escort you to the Sicilian capital of chocolate.

The main street of Modica, "il Corso", is as typical an Italian meeting place as any you can hope to visit, with cafés and majestic buildings. The church of San Giorgio is an impressive monument, redesigned after the earthquake of 1693, surrounded by a flight of 250 steps to further enhance the scenic beauty of its fine facade.

Modica's chocolate is one of the most famous products of the Ragusa area. It is still made the same way the ancient Aztecs made chocolate in Mexico and its tradition dates back to the 16th century. The technique was brought over by the Spaniards who in turn learned about it in what is now Mexico. You will enjoy a private visit to the traditional chocolate laboratory and experience the chocolate tasting.

After the visit your driver will escort you back to the Port.

Train, Flight, Ferry, Museum, Concerts, Events, Sports and Fashion show Tickets:

- 100% non refundable at the time of the booking.

All other services:

- from time of confirmation to 121 days prior to arrival no penalty will be charged;

- between 120 and 61 days prior to arrival 30% of the total amount due is not refundable;
